Description
When you choose a Vermont Castings wood stove from our collection, you’re investing in more than just reliable warmth. You’re bringing home a beautifully crafted piece of American heritage designed to deliver timeless style and lasting comfort. The last original Defiant Parlor Stove proudly resides in the Smithsonian National History collection. Named over four decades ago to “defy the wintry blast,” the Vermont Castings Defiant wood stove we ship to your door continues to live up to its legendary reputation as a 100% cast iron wood stove built to outlast you.
We’ve thoughtfully designed every detail with your convenience in mind:
-
Effortlessly load your stove from the top, minimizing effort and safely containing smoke and embers with our innovative top-load wood stove design.
-
Effortlessly handle ashes with the exclusive swing-out ash pan and covered handle, designed for safe use even when your stove is hot.
-
Experience longer burn times of up to 14 hours and even heat distribution with our thermostatically controlled combustion system.
-
Burn cleaner and stretch every armload of firewood with FlexBurn catalytic technology, the system that makes this an EPA-certified catalytic wood stove rated at 84% LHV efficiency and just 1.3 grams per hour of emissions.
Ideal for mid-sized and larger spaces, your Vermont Castings Defiant efficiently heats rooms between 1,300 and 2,800 square feet on a peak output of 56,000 BTU, real whole-home heat, not a supplemental fire that warms one corner.
Efficient Design
Our exclusive top-loading wood stove design ensures you can fill your wood-burning stove almost entirely, providing longer burn times, fewer refills, and exceptional heat output. The generous 3.2 cubic foot firebox takes 20-inch logs, so you’ll spend less time splitting wood and fewer cold mornings hauling it. It also significantly reduces the risk of escaping hot embers, enhancing safety for your home and your family.
Easy to Clean
Our innovative swing-out ash pan simplifies ash removal, letting you clean your stove effortlessly, even during operation.
Heat at Your Fingertips
With Vermont Castings’ thermostatic air control, you’ll enjoy consistent and comfortable room temperatures. Prevent overheating and optimize wood usage for extended, efficient heating sessions.
Accessorize your stove with exceptional extras, from warming shelves to a stove-top steamer and a child-guard screen, enhancing the functionality and safety of your Vermont Castings wood stove.Whether you select the classic Vermont Castings Defiant Encore or the traditional Vermont Castings Defiant wood stove, each stove in our collection is designed to offer superior heat performance and timeless style.
Choose the Vermont Castings wood stove from our collection and embrace a tradition of expert craftsmanship, enduring warmth, and uncompromised comfort for your home.
